About

Hi, I'm Jacob.

I'm a multidisciplinary designer with a focus on research and information architecture. I'm passionate about disentangling ambiguity to create intuitive and accessible experiences — and most interested in civic design and problems where user-centered design can meaningfully improve quality of life for vulnerable communities.

I recently graduated from the Austin Center for Design, where I earned a certificate in Interaction Design and Social Entrepreneurship. AC4D is a school built around wicked problems. I honed my skills in design research, sense-making, ideation, storytelling, usability testing, and interaction design — and learned to ask the right questions to get the most out of an idea, whether in user research, generative ideation, or design review.

I believe design has incredible power. We create objects, spaces, tools, and experiences that shape the world — and everything we design designs us back. I approach every project with inclusivity, compassion, and a focus on equity, hoping those values eventually reflect back into the world.

I also love technology. Before settling on design, I dabbled in Python scripting, front-end web development, and data visualization. That technical background lets me collaborate closely with developers and stay comfortable in the handoff between design and engineering.

Outside of work, you can probably find me throwing a frisbee. I've been an ultimate frisbee player and organizer for the past eight years — it's shaped how I think about equity, teamwork, and leadership. I also love discovering new music (send me whatever's on repeat) and cheering on the US men's and women's national soccer teams.
